Closing Tuesday 14 September 2021.

The Rail Industry Reference Committee (IRC) is seeking subject matter experts to form a Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) for the Rail Traffic Pilot project.

The industry is experiencing rapid infrastructure growth and investment that requires skills development to ensure our rail networks remain safe for traditional and autonomous rail traffic and the community.

Rail traffic pilots help ensure safe, efficient, and effective rail traffic movement across rail networks under a variety of circumstances.

Currently there is no skill set for a rail traffic pilot who is not involved within track authority limits, i.e., a rail traffic pilot on the main line not involved with track work.

Given the vastness of the rail infrastructure work currently happening in Australia this is a skill that will be in demand over the next five years as new projects come online.

Industry expertise and insight is welcome to help review and develop Training Package materials for Rail Traffic Pilots. Registrations of interest can be submitted up to close of business Tuesday 14 September 2021.
