The Goondiwindi Regional Council have secured funding from the Department of Employment Small Business and Training through the Regional Skills Investment Strategy funding to run Livestock Handling Workshops.

Livestock businesses in the Goondiwindi region will have the opportunity to develop their cattle handling and transport skills in a free workshop with renowned industry expert Tom Shephard in the coming weeks.

Three one-day workshops will be held between 8 am – 5 pm on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th of August at Frasers Transport Depot Goondiwindi. The sessions will focus on understanding cattle behaviour, handling techniques for road transport, workplace safety and animal health and welfare. The workshops will incorporate theory and practical elements and participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the workshop as a record of their training.

Those wishing to participate must be employed by, or operate a livestock business based within the Goondiwindi Local Government Area. Eligible participants are encouraged to secure their place early, as numbers will be strictly limited.

To secure your place or for more information, please contact Sam Noon at Goondiwindi Regional Council on 0428 819 932 or snoon@grc.qld.gov.au.
